Barbarian Tactics
Strengths
The barbarians are a true horde army and have access to many very cheap infantry and cavalry options.
Barbarians armies are very fast for human armies and have access to several units of infiltrators and fast cavalry. These units, when supported by fast moving monsters and vehicles, allow the barbarian army to hit the enemy army quickly and at a point of their choosing.
The barbarian army has access to a wide array of troop types including cheap horde infantry, spearmen with a strong missile attack, missile troops, elite infiltrators, horse archers and both medium and heavy cavalry.
Barbarian heroes are excellent warriors. Their greater heroes have evasion 2, making them very difficult to kill. Their lesser heroes are also cheap enough to field several of them in a single unit.
Weaknesses
Very few troops in the barbarian army have high armour. Consequently, their army can be vulnerable to enemy missiles. However, their large numbers and access to infiltrators usually make up for this.
Most of the barbarian units do not have a high strength and will struggle to kill well armoured opponents. The barbarian player can offset this weakness by the use of Nature magic, in particular the Strength spell.
Most barbarian units have very low magic resistance, making them very vulnerable to an enemy’s magic.
