Caliphate Tactics

Army Strengths

  • The Caliphate army has a lot of units with multiple wounds. The Eunuchs, assassins, and camel riders all have more than one wound.
  • Most Caliphate units are very fast. Their cavalry move 18” and carpet riders fly 20” per turn. Their basic infantry are also fairly quick, moving 6” per turn.
  • The Caliphate elite infantry are exceptional in melee. The Assassins, Dervishers, and Eunuchs all have multiple attacks.
  • Many of the Caliphate units benefit significantly from the buffing spells available to the Caliphate sorcerers. Carpet riders, Eunuchs and Dervishers become incredibly potent with spells such as flaming weapons and flame breath. The lightly armoured and high wound camel riders and Eunuchs also benefit well from life spells such as Courage and Holy Armour.
  • Caliphate characters have a high number of wounds for humans. The Grand Assassins are also deadly warriors with evasion 2 and fearsome attacks.

Army Weaknesses

  • Many of the Caliphate units are not well armoured. Their base infantry and cavalry only have an armour save of 2. Their assassins, Eunuchs, and carpet riders are also very lightly armoured.

  • Aside from their elite infantry and cavalry, the bulk of the Caliphate army is composed of mediocre human infantry. These units have only average morale and melee capabilities.
